Creating a 2D vertical model from an existing 3D model

In SPRING, it is possible to "extract" a 2D vertical model from an existing 3D horizontal mesh. This requires the background files of the 3D model and an already created name.bpl file of a vertical section matching the model. The information about the node coordinates is taken from this. In a DOS shell, the command:

plogeo -mesh name.bpl

can create the 2D vertical mesh. A complete 2D vertical model is then created by assigning the MAEC attribute and any necessary new assignment of the flow-relevant attributes.
