When displaying model and result data of a 3D vertical model, the different assignment of the coordinate axes must be taken into account. In addition, not all sections are displayed as you might intuitively expect.
Since the usual representation of the free surface in the plot settings menu is not useful for a 3D vertical model, the representation of the free surface in a 3D vertical model requires a workaroud via the following procedure:
The Y-coordinates (= position height) are saved to the KKKK attribute (Attributes
Copy
Attribute-wise...).
Import the calculated potential heads (Attributes
Import model data/result data...). Then the attribute KKKK is subtracted from the calculated potential heads and stored on any node attribute (Attributes
Compute
Calculator...). The free surface results as an isoline representation of this attribute with value = 0.0.
It is not possible to hide results above the free surface.
