Data identifier: ELEM [-]

This data type describes which nodes form the quadrilateral or triangular elements. The elements are numbered, however, the numbering is arbitrary.

The node numbers for each element have to be listed in an anti-clockwise order.

For triangles, the 4th node is entered as a 0. Two elements can be defined per line of the model file (*.net).

Within a row, the 1st or 2nd element definition can be omitted or deleted, as long as the row is not empty. The element definitions are created by the mesh generator and are automatically saved in the model file
