The in SPRING integrated box model allows the transient simulation of flooding processes. Any number of decoupled floodplains can be defined. The interaction between groundwater model and floodplain area (box) allows a detailed and faithful presentation of the exchange of flow rates between the systems.
With the help of the relationship between the water spreading height - water spreading volume a reliable flooding simulation without detailed knowledge of the often extremely complex geometries of the floodplains, such as. e.g. tunnel and shaft systems in underground mining, is possible.
Several optional parameters allow the mapping of numerous configurations, such as:
- Time-variable control of water spreading heights
- Definition of pumping phases and phases with abandoning technical waters
- Presentation of drainages with an inflow in the floodplain
